Navratri Day 4 - Maa Kushmanda Arti and Puja Vidhi

Who is Maa Kushmanda -

Goddess Parvati is believed to stay and reside in the center of the sun and liberate energy to the universe and hence took the avatar of Maa Kushmanda. It is said that she is as radiant as the sun and possesses healing powers. She can be seen riding a lioness and has eight hands. She has Kamandal, Dhanush, Bada, and Kamal in the right hands and Amrit Kalash, Jap Mala, Gada, and Chakra in the left hands in that order.

Navratri Day 4 Puja - Maa Kushmanda Puja Vidhi

Kushmanda puja is performed on the 4th day of Navratri (Chaturthi). As per Vidhi-Vidhan, only a few steps are taken on the devotional path of the devotee, the devotee becomes a subtle experience of his grace. This sad condition becomes pleasant and easy for the devotee. Her worship is the most accessible and straightforward way for human beings to fly freely from the Bhavsagar. On this day as far as possible, the braggart married woman should be worshiped. After feeding yogurt, halva in the food, fruits should be presented after the dry fruits and dried fruits, and good luck to the lady. By which mother is happy And gives the desired results to its devotees.

Navratri 4th Day Aarti and Mantra

Om Devi Kushmandayai Namah,

Surasampurna Kalasham Rudhiraplutameva Cha,
Dadhana Hastapadmabhyam Kushmanda Shubhadastu Me.

Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Kushmanda Rupena Samsthita,
Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah.

Aarti

कूष्माण्डा जय जग सुखदानी। मुझ पर दया करो महारानी॥
पिङ्गला ज्वालामुखी निराली। शाकम्बरी माँ भोली भाली॥
लाखों नाम निराले तेरे। भक्त कई मतवाले तेरे॥
भीमा पर्वत पर है डेरा। स्वीकारो प्रणाम ये मेरा॥
सबकी सुनती हो जगदम्बे। सुख पहुँचती हो माँ अम्बे॥
तेरे दर्शन का मैं प्यासा। पूर्ण कर दो मेरी आशा॥
माँ के मन में ममता भारी। क्यों ना सुनेगी अरज हमारी॥
तेरे दर पर किया है डेरा। दूर करो माँ संकट मेरा॥
मेरे कारज पूरे कर दो। मेरे तुम भंडारे भर दो॥

Navratri Day 1 - Maa Shailputri Aarti and Pooja Vidhi

Who is Devi Shailputri?


Devi Sati, the daughter of King Daksha, was reborn as Shailputri (the daughter of the Himalayas). She holds a Trishul (Trident) in the right hand and a pink lotus in the left, and a crescent adorns her forehead. She is also referred to as Vrisha Roodha because she is mounted on a bull (Vrishabha).

Shailputri Puja Vidhi


  • Pray to Lord Ganesha (Vighnaharta) and seek his blessings for a hurdle-free Navratri vrat. 
  • Light a lamp (with ghee or mustard or sesame oil) and place it on the altar near the Goddess' idol/image.
  • Then, invoke Maa Shailputri by chanting the following Mantras.


Shailputri Mantras

ॐ देवी शैलपुत्र्यै नमः॥

Om Devi Shailaputryai Namah॥

वन्दे वाञ्छितलाभाय चन्द्रार्धकृतशेखराम्।

वृषारूढां शूलधरां शैलपुत्रीं यशस्विनीम्॥

Vande Vanchhitalabhaya Chandrardhakritashekharam।

Vrisharudham Shuladharam Shailaputrim Yashasvinim॥

या देवी सर्वभू‍तेषु माँ शैलपुत्री रूपेण संस्थिता। नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः॥

Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Shailaputri Rupena Samsthita।

Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namah॥

  • Perform the Panchopchara puja by offering GandhamPushpamDeepamSugandham and Naivedyam (bhog).


Shailputri Bhog



Offer Kheer (pudding) made of Cow's milk as bhog. You may also offer fruits, coconut with its husk, bananas, paan and supari, Haldi and kumkum.

  • Conclude the puja by singing the Aarti and offer your salutations to her by lighting the camphor. 
  • After the puja, distribute prasad.

Shailputri Maa bail par sawar, kare Devta jayjaykar

Shiv Shankar ki priya Bhawani, Teri mahima kisine na jani

Parvati tu Uma kehlave, Jo tujhe simare so sukh pave

Riddhi Siddhi parwan kare tu, daya kare dhanwan kare tu

Somwar ko Shiv sang pyari, Aarti teri jisne utari

Uski sagari aas puja do, sagare dukh takleef mila do

Ghee ka sundar deep jalake, gola gari ka bhog lagake

Shraddha Bhav se mantra gayein, prem sahit phir sheesh jhukaye

Manokamna purna keri do, bhakt sada sukh sampatti bhar do.
